The SOSDG Chat Network

The SOSDG IRC Chat Network was recently opened up to public access as a way for users, developers, and staff to communicate easily and quickly.  Users have access to Network Services, which offer NickServ, ChanServ, MemoServ, and other common services found on networks like DALnet.

Ports: 6667, 6679(SSL/TLS)

The server network is based on Hybrid 7, a decendant of one of the oldest and most popular ircd servers and features services running HybServ2.  Our network also offers SSL enabled connections on certain servers and allows IPv6 access!

SOSDG-Net Java IRC Client

Using this client, you can join the IRC chat network without needing a local client on your home computer like mIRC, XChat, ircle, or EPIC4. You need to have the Sun Java Runtime installed.

Nickname - This is the name that other people see when you talk in a channel
Realname - This is your real name, or other identifying information, can be madeup
Username - This is the name before the @ part of your hostname, can be made up
Chat Room/Channel - This is the place where you will be talking
